Yoga

So, my friend Anne got me thinking about how Netflix has exercise DVDs that you can check out, so I figured what the heck. This week I got "Basic Yoga for Dummies." I've done both of the routines on the tape, and it is fantastic for someone who knows nothing about yoga. The instructor goes really slow and explains everything thoroughly. I did the "Beginnner " routine yesterday which is really just a lot of stretching and learning how to breathe and balance. Today I did the "Intermediate" which was hard for me, but I feel really good. My body is all stretchy and loose, and for the first time I feel like I know what people mean when they say they feel good after they exercise. Anyone who knows me has heard me say that I hate sweating and I hate being out of breath, and while I did sweat, it wasn't terrible. Because it focuses so much on breathing, I didn't suffer that horrible burning, bile-y feeling. My breathing just became a little more labored. In short, I really like yoga so far. It's like exercise for people who hate exercise.
